Day 5 - morning
Temperature: 28 Celsius
Weather: warm, blue skies
Now that the monks' procession was over and done with, guess what? We followed them to the temple where we had breakfast with them! Well, kind of!
We could have eaten along with them by sitting down on the hard wood floors and binge ourselves to all sort of food but, would that have been exciting and challenging! Nahhhhh!
Instead, we preferred doing something much more interesting and thrilling such as…….are you ready for this…….such as feeding the "tiger cubs and youngsters"! Yeahhhh!
You see, we were here today at the “Tiger Temple” for an all exclusive morning program of uninterrupted hours with the tigers of all ages and sizes from tiny cubs to full grown adult tigers. We were now at the starting point of our program, feeding the tiger cubs and youngsters!
While the monks dived in their food offerings and ate as if there was no tomorrow, we played with the tiny tiger cubs. Being so cute and cuddly, I wished I could have brought one home. I held some which were newborns and others which were two months old. While some of them were quite playful and aggressive, others were as gentle as a lamb.
But that wasn’t the end of it. I even played with seven to nine months old tigers which proved to be a little more of a challenge. We were instructed not to pat their heads and stay behind them. Didn’t have to tell me this twice!
During this time, Sally had my camera and took non-stop pictures….much to my enthusiasm. After a good half an hour of this, we proceeded to the next stage of the program…..even more thrilling!Monique :-)
