Unfortunately, we were told where to sit in this 8 passengers tram……and in order to keep this thing in balance, it went according to weight!
It was a huge disappointment to me because since I was the first one in line, of course, I expected to be the first one to board the gondola and sit at the front of it for better picture opportunities! Instead, Michel and I were placed in the fourth row, the one before the last! :-(
While being seated in this gondola high above the treetops, the tram glided slowly but surely through a living backdrop of giant trees, hanging gardens, waterfalls and lush green landscapes.
I didn't have the views from the front that I would have wished for but from the side, they were still awesome! As well, since our guide sat right behind us, we could easily ask him questions while he pointed out to so many species of plants!
As we continued on, panoramic ocean views were seen as well as common sightings of wildlife that thrive in the canopy such as monkeys.
Many beautiful big blue butterflies flew right past me but unfortunately since they never stood still not even for a second, I wasn’t able to take pictures of them!
I was glad to be here, to be gliding high above the trees but after a while it became kind of repetitive. Don’t get me wrong here! I was glad I’ve came but I wouldn’t do it twice in other words! Blame it on the fact that I wasn’t sitting in the front seat!
One thing’s for sure! I was glad that it didn’t rain since after all, we were in a rainforest and our guide had warned us about the possibilities! But luck was on our side and the sun shone upon us all the way!
After a good one hour tram ride, we were back on the ground! We then followed our guide for an enjoyable walk along the rainforest’s hiking trail where he pointed to us various flora species and trees. Many insects such as ants were also seen on the ground carrying on their backs small pieces of green leaves.
This forty-five minute walk ended back at the reception area where lunch and cold refreshments were served. A souvenir shop was close by where I browsed through the souvenirs but nothing was bought!
After wandering around by ourselves for a good half an hour, time came to leave the premises and head out to our next adventure listed on this shore excursion!
In other words, our shore excursion wasn’t over yet! We still had a boat ride to take on the famous Tarcoles River which promised us fantastic views of the biggest crocodiles on earth plus many species of birds!
