Day 20 - early morning

Day 13 - Northern Experience Tour
              35 Celsius, beautiful sunrise

The day announced itself amazingly beautiful.   Life couldn't get any better!  The sun rose in the horizon casting a hue of colors in the process.  Of all sunrises seen so far, this one surpassed all of them!

It might have been the fact that I was surrounded with wildlife or the fact that I was on an African safari doing a game reserve drive which made it even more special but the fact remained that this sunrise was kind of the "wow, wow, wow" factor!   It had all my favorite colors in it: various shades of pink and purple!

As NTando drove, I had my camera sticking out of the vehicle’s window clicking away at that sunrise.   We had just left Okaukuejo Resort Camp where we had slept the night before and zebras wandered close by.   Several pictures were taken capturing the progress of the sun as it rose.   It was breathtaking!

All of this to tell you, if ever you’re wondering where I took the photo of the sunrise used in my “blog’s theme photo”, well, look no was right here in Etosha National Park on this day and hour of the morning, 7:00am!   A special moment captured in time!

Of all days to be, today had to be the one where Michel and I sat way at the back of Mhondoro on the left side of the vehicle!   Groan!   However, this definitely didn’t stop me from often getting up and sticking my head out of other people’s windows to take pictures.   One good thing about our travelling companions, we all shared alike which was great!

I was extremely thrilled to see this early in the morning guess what!   None other than the king of the jungle with his family resting close to him.  He appeared lazy as he rested on the rugged terrain but briefly got up and wandered with an air of independence and content.  He might have read my mind calling him lazy or simply had a good night’s kill and a belly full of raw meat!

.    Now that I'd seen the lion, I was more than happy to cross it out from my list of animals seen so far on my safari trip which are considered "Africa’s Big Five”!      In case you’re not counting......three seen so far, two more to go!  Now, the question of the day!   Do you remember which animals from "Africa's Big Five" I’ve seen to date!

To be continued…

Hi Fio,
You are wrong. You got three out of five. The other two are not part of "Africa's Big Five"!
Try again later!
