Day 8 – late afternoon
Day 1 – Northern Experience Tour
Weather: 30 Celsius - hot and sunny
Upon arriving back at the hotel, you'll never guess what was parked right in front of it along the sidewalk! Our safari overland truck Wow! I couldn’t believe my eyes with what I was seeing as reality hit me like a ton of bricks that this was really happening, that this evening, we’ll be joining our tour! Hourrahhhh!
After checking the truck from all angles, I was happy with what I was seeing. After all, we’ll be sitting and travelling in this mode of transportation for the next three weeks! Had to inspect the goods! Hehehe!
Our room was finally ready. The bellboy was called and we proceeded to follow him up four flight of stairs with him carrying my bags and Michel his. This hotel had no elevators. It was a good thing that they didn’t have any higher floors because even though it was good exercise, four was enough……but look who’s complaining; I wasn’t the one carrying all those bags! Hehehe!
Our room was the last one down zigzagging hallways! Room number 408! Even though it was far away and kind of hidden in the corner, I should tell you that it had its advantages! The room was on the corner, had more windows and was quite big. So, no complaints here as it certainly looked comfortable enough but outdated!
Looking outside the window, we had a nice view of the pool below. No one was around the patio terrace making me wonder if any other people joining the tour had arrived.
After quickly dropping our bags down and since I wanted to check the hotel’s grounds, Michel followed me all the way down the stairs, pass the dining area and out the doors to the pool area where we comfortably settled down on lounging chairs. Not a soul was seen except the clerk at the reception!
It was nice to take a break, relax and do absolutely nothing for a change…..
To be continued….Monique :-)
