Day 8 – afternoon
Day 1 – Northern Experience Tour
Weather: 30 Celsius - hot and sunny
At exactly 1:00pm, we made our grand entrance at the Lady Hamilton Hotel where we were greeted by the only person at the reception’s desk! Now, where was that bellboy when you needed him! Michel was fully loaded as he carried all the luggage himself!
Not too fast in finding our reservations…..African way…..they were finally found after a good ten minutes of wait just to be told fifteen minutes later that our room wasn’t ready yet! What!!!
It was quite a disappointment and kind of surprising considering the fact that the hotel did appeared almost empty at the time but one can never tell! Anyway, after a few inquiries, our bags were put in storage and out the doors we went checking out the neighborhood!
Just one block away from the hotel, a park was in site which gave us a closer view of Table Mountain and its Cable Stations. Looking around, numerous trees provided shade along interlock pathways which made it easier to walk on and admire the picturesque scenes.
After taking a few pictures here and there, it was time to leave the premises and walk down the street where just around the corner, guess what stood in front of us!
Company Gardens! Yeahhhh! The same garden that we’ve been to on our "Half day city tour"! The same one that we practically rushed through with our guide and where I wished I could have stayed longer. Well, my wish did come true because I now had all the time in the world to visit it! Plus the fact that we didn’t have anything else to do! Ha, ha!
Beautiful trees, stunning landscapes, amazing views, incredible gardens, what more can a person ask for! I had everything here to go crazy and take tons of photos. The sky was deep blue, the sun was out and shining, the breeze….well no breeze today!
It was hot, hot, hot and I loved every minute of it! You have to know though that I did think about all of you guys back home and wondered if you were freezing today! Hehehe!
Fantastic views of Table Mountain could also be seen from here. And yes, I did my happy jump here, twice actually because the first time around, Michel didn’t take it correctly! Well….that’s what he said but I kind of expected that he might have done it purposely just for me to look like a fool and do it twice in front of an audience! Well, it didn’t bother me a bit! Hehehe!
Since we were told that our room was going to be ready by 2:00pm, we started to head back to our starting point but we did it the African way…..slowly but surely!
To be continued…Monique :-)
