Day 8 – morningDay 1 – Northern Experience Tour
It was kind of hard getting up this morning and knowing that today was check-out day! Sighhhhh! I just didn't want to get out of bed!
I was remembering that one week ago, Michel and I had left the cold weather of Ottawa and embarked on this African journey of ours with anticipation and excitement. With two days lost in travelling time, we've been here in Cape Town for 6 days now counting today! Having seen and done so many wonderful things so far, I was however ready to leave and start newer and exciting adventures!
This evening at 6:00pm, Michel and I will be joining our "Northern Experience" overland tour at the “joining point” hotel being the “Lady Hamilton Hotel” located more inland but closer to Table Mountain. Knowing that we were twelve people in total on the tour (maximum number), I wondered from which nationalities they were from, age group, etc….
But it was way too early to think about all those things right now…..it was only 7:00am! Since we still had a good part of the day all to ourselves and since the day was promising to be a gorgeous beautiful one…….couldn’t it had been yesterday when we went to Cape Point Peninsula…….I just wanted to wander around for one last time around the Waterfront and neighboring streets and see all over again the places that I loved so much!
So, where do you think I went! I went back to Sea Point Promenade. As you know, Michel and I had been there on numerous occasions but never in the morning. So with the sun positioned elsewhere in the sky, things surely would be different!
And they were! Blue skies, different shadows, enormous waves along the Promenade, etc…. Quite entertaining and beautiful! I was happy that I came.
At 12:30pm, I was ready. I was ready to leave the Waterfront and head out to our joining point hotel! While sitting in the taxi, I glanced behind me for one last time the Waterfront knowing that I’ll probably never come back again but that I’ll cherish forever my time spent here! Monique :-)
PS I have started posting pictures that Michel took. I have added (mfb) at the end of his photos.
