Day 11 - noon
Michel and I had lunch at St. Mark's Square. In a way, it was kind of special eating there while watching people come and go all around us. We had brought with us a few things to eat from the hotel which was more than sufficient having eaten a big breakfast this morning.
The huge columns surrounding the square achieved in giving us some kind of shade while we sat on small marble steps in the far left corner of this gigantic area. We had ample of time before our afternoon’s excursion and decided just to relax, do nothing and enjoy several minutes of rest before continuing on.
Break time being over and batteries fully recharged, we walked all around St. Mark’s Squares for one last time where this time around, I stopped at almost every boutiques’ windows. It was kind of hard to resist because everything was so beautiful. If it wasn’t for Michel pulling me away, well, who knows what else I would have bought! Ha, ha, ha!
Rest assured, I was a good little girl and didn’t purchase anything else. After all, there wasn’t anything wrong with just looking! Right! Plus let’s not forget, I was now sporting my brand new 14K Pandora bracelet and that’s all that mattered!
We walked pass the Bridge of Sighs and stopped for a while admiring it at daylight. Having seen it last night in semi-darkness, it appeared as captivating during the day! Close by, the Danieli Hotel made it tempting to revisit it one more time. So, you guessed right! I reentered the building where the security guard immediately recognized me from last night. Couldn’t fool him even if I tried to....even dressed as Waldo! Ha, ha, ha!
I can’t complain though because once more, he allowed me time to wander around the hotel’s huge entrance hall and go to the library located right next to it. A big huge fireplace decorated the room where chandeliers brightened it up. I just felt like collapsing on one of the big comfortable leather chairs or sofas but then, I might have fallen asleep!Monique :-)
