Day 6 - morning
Even though I had fallen in love with Rome, because yes, I really loved the ancient part of the city, it was now time to move on and change scenery! As they say, to let the journey begin……..
As usual, I was the first one on the bus and had the luxury of choosing wherever I wanted to sit! Yeahhhh! Usually, I would have sat right at the front but today, I decided otherwise and chose to sit on the right side, five rows back! The second set of doors was just behind me giving me a quick and faster exit for those special moments to take pictures. I just hoped that I'd made the right choice though as for the best landscapes being on my side. Ha, ha, ha!
At exactly 8:00am, the bus left the hotel with me glancing back for a last time. In a way, I was saddened because I knew I’d never come back here to this specific place. Goodbye Kolbe Hotel and on with the adventure! See, already forgotten!
Beautiful landscapes were seen with green emerald pastures. The trees were blossoming and many had pink and white flowers even though some were still skeletons without any leaves and dead looking. Spring was in the air, nature was coming back to life and here I was glued to my window seat watching the scenes go by minute after minute. Well, these minutes after minutes went by fast because without realizing it, here we were two hours later making a short rest stop simply to stretch out or use the loos!
We were traveling north; the highways were excellent and not bumper to bumper! And guess what! I had my first glimpse of medieval towns built high above the hills surrounded by deep green colored cypress trees. Having never seen these type of towns before, to me it was the "Wow" factor plus an insight as to what was more to come!Monique :-)
