Having just returned a few weeks ago from my trip to South America, this morning I was once again ready and excited to leave everything behind and travel to another continent, another country and embrace with open arms another culture! But first, I had to stop daydreaming, get out of bed and finish packing! Right!
Looking outside the window, the sky was blue and the sun was already shining high above the clouds! Good! No snow storm was in the forecast! Nothing was stopping me now! "ITALY, here I come", I yelled out to Michel! In less than eighteen hours from now, I'll be stepping foot in Rome where I’ll be seeing the Colosseum, one of the Seven New Wonders of the World plus so many other wonderful things on my tour! Yeahhh!
Eric was kind enough to drive us to the airport even though today was his birthday! Happy Birthday Eric! Goodbyes were said and off we went through the security gates waving back at him for a last time. We were four hours ahead of time but hey, who’s counting!
Our flight departed at 6:00pm this evening from Ottawa all the way to Frankfurt! This time around, I didn’t preorder any special vegetarian dish! I’ve learned my lesson from my previous trips and waited patiently like everyone else for my turn to be served! Mind that I didn’t have to wait very long for my food since our seats were at the front of the plane! Ha, ha!
I didn’t watch any movies even though I tried to. I kept dozing off and on; I must have been more tired than I thought! Next thing I knew, we had landed in Frankfurt; it was 6:30am. I had lost six hours of my life with this time difference and looked every little bit of it! I looked a mess in other words! Monique :-)
