Day 11 (morning)Temperature: 15 degrees
Weather: sunny and warm
With wonderful weather in the forecast, this morning I was up and standing high above the cliff waiting for the sun to make its majestic rise above the Mediterranean Sea. It was 6:00am and Michel and I were the only ones outside. As the old saying goes "The early birds get the best worms!" Well, that's exactly what I got! On one side, the full moon making a fabulous exit and on the other side, the sun rising high and mighty above us! I couldn't have asked for any better sunrise!
Since this morning we weren’t leaving until 9:00am, we took our time walking along the several paths all around the hotel’s grounds enjoying our last few hours here.
Back on the motor coach, my goodbyes to Antalya were said in my very own special way and now looking straight in front of me without even turning back, my journey through Turkey continued on.
Minutes turned into hours as Harun drove us through cities and towns, through zigzagging roads and pine forests, through mountain ranges in which the landscape kept me constantly glued to the window while Michel slept occasionally.
A short stop was made for us to stretch out and a one hour stop for us to have lunch. And yes, soup again! It was 1:30pm by the time we arrived all in one piece at out next stop for the day. We have been travelling for more than four and a half hours and were now in a city called Pamukkale which meant “Cotton Castle” in Turkish! Anxiously, we were soon about to find out why!!!Monique :-)
