Day 8 (evening) Temperature: 8 degreesWeather: cool evening
The high rise hotel proved to be extremely lovely but what I liked most about it was my room! Yes, my room! And you'll never guess why…..? We were given the keys to a suite! Wow!
You should have seen my face and cry of joy when the door was open. It was almost the size of three rooms all together. Quite big! It had a living room, a separate bedroom, two televisions, computer, etc… Not that I needed all that space….
A few hours were spent at the shopping mall right across the street from the hotel. "Can’t hide those places from me" I teasingly told Michel! It was quite big being two stories high but what I liked most about it was the ceiling. It had big huge lights that looked just like waves…..and the colors of the lights kept changing every few minutes. I was impressed!
It was fun just to be browsing and relaxing at the same time. We were in no hurry since it was still early in the evening. We eventually went back to the hotel, had a change of clothes and met with the group for dinner.
This evening, we had dinner at the hotel’s Safran Restaurant where we simply remained seated and enjoyed being served “a la carte”. Now, isn’t this a hard life! :-) The chef had no problem preparing a vegetarian meal all for myself. Lots of veggies once again….. “You’ll probably turn into a vegetable at this end of this tour” Michel laughingly told me! “But a nice one” I quickly replied!
Afterwards, my usual round of the hotel was made….old habits die hard as they say! The hotel was explored from corner to corner, pictures taken as well. The interior swimming pool was visited and it was huge……it was almost the size of an Olympic pool plus, just like the shopping mall, it had lights at the ceiling that changed colors constantly which reflected in the water. It looked quite inviting!
And so ended my day, my very long day that started almost 16 hours ago when we first got up in the early hours of the morning in preparation for of our Hot Air Balloon Tour. All of this now seemed like ages ago......Statistics for the day:- Total Km: Nevsehir (Cappadocia) to Konya: 225 Km· Total time: Nevsehir (Cappadocia) to Aksaray: 1 hr 15 min.· Aksaray to Sultanhani: 30 min· Sultanhani – Konya: 1 hr 30 minMonique :-)
