Day 7 (evening)
Temperature: 8 degreesWeather: cooler, dark sky
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed an early dinner which started at 6:30pm. By the tour's standards, it was very early because we usually ate much later in the evening. But for tonight, there was a special reason for this and a good one as well! We were going to a colorful folklore show ….and guess where…..of all places to be……in an underground cave! "Hurrah"! I yelled with excitement!
“Evranos Restaurant Turkish Night” was the name of the amusement center in an underground cave where we went for our fun night out. The place was already crowded with people cheering and laughing as we made our way to our reserved section. The soft volcanic rock dwelling was huge and round in shape and had an appealing look for everyone to have fun!
Unlimited drinks were passed around, snacks were eaten and then the show started featuring teams performing folk dances representing different regions of Turkey. We all participated by clapping our hands together and chanting to the sound of the music feeling the life, the culture and the tradition of the Turkish people.
We were even entertained by a belly dancer, the highlight of the evening where men were asked to participate and shown the exotic movements! Hmmm….no comments here! It was purely hilarious! Various animations followed where we all laughed the evening away.
Two and a half hours later, the show ended. Stepping outside the center, the air was on the cool side and complete darkness surrounded me….but looking way, way, up, into the sky, the moon was round and bright. We were still in the full moon phase, which for some ridiculous reasons, made me think of my Hot Air Balloon Tour planned for early tomorrow morning. I was picturing myself going to the moon……in my beautiful balloon! Must have been all those drinks!
It was close to 11:30pm when we made it back to the hotel all in one piece!
