Day 8 (afternoon)
Weather: Sunny with clouds
Brazil Tour: Day 4 Iguazu Falls
Back at our hotel, we had a change of clothes and a quick bite to eat before heading back outside to wander around the hotel’s fantastic grounds and path leading to the falls. By then, it was past tourists visiting hour, except for us living here meaning that we now had the entire falls all to ourselves. In other words....no people in my pictures!
We quickly made our way to the path that lead to a boardwalk and cement scenic trail on the edge of the river which gave us spectacular panoramic views of the Iguazu Falls seen from the Brazilian side of the river. It was quite peaceful since no one was around, only the sound of the powerful waterfalls could be heard, the birds signing in the trees and the whisper of the leaves in between the trees. We were in this immense luxurious subtropical rain-forest surrounded by beautiful rich green vegetation and accompanying wild life and enjoying every moment of it.
Once in a while we would encounter other guests staying at the hotel who just like us would be taking a stroll along the 1.7 miles trail. Since the area was pretty much deserted and due to the tranquility surrounding us, small monkeys would be coming out of their hiding and jumping from tree to tree as if playing hide and seek. Huge and small lizards would be crossing the path totally ignoring us in the process while coatis, small animals that resembled racoons but had long noses would be eating fruits found on the ground from trees.
The entire forest was suddenly becoming alive where beautiful butterflies would fly right past us, where the warm breeze of the soft wind felt quite refreshing and where the forceful waterfalls would send us tons of droplets of water wetting us in the process. Looking at the falls, the mist and foam caused by them created permanent rainbows in the décor adding stunning beauty in the landscape. I was surrounded with beauty, I was ecstatic, I was on cloud nine!
