The bridegroom looked absolutely handsome as he stepped out of the car in front of the Miraflores Park Hotel. There was a glow on Justin's face that radiated all around him while he looked like the happiest man on earth! His future father-in-law had just arrived before us and in the process, saludos were exchanged!
Looking all around me, the sun could be seen getting ready for a beautiful sunset in between the white puffy clouds, the birds could be heard signing in the trees nearby and the ocean breeze could be felt soothing our skin. It was a perfect evening….a perfect evening to get married!
Shortly afterwards, Fiorella, the bride-to-be arrived in the décor looking absolutely GORGEOUS. She was wearing a stunning off-white silk and satin dress which complemented quite well her small silhouette figure and tanned skin. Justin just couldn’t take his eyes off her as he proudly hugged her in front of everyone around.
We proceeded to enter inside the Hotel and then going to the wedding and reception room being located in the "Observatory Room" on the 11th floor. The professional photographer was already on site and ready to take pictures.
As we stepped out of the elevators on the 11th floor, a spectacular room full of beautiful flower arrangements and well decorated round tables and chairs was what greeted us. The place looked absolutely magnificent! Looking outside the glass windows, the sun was piercing its rays through the clouds creating in the process an amazing palette of colors that radiated throughout the horizon and reflected in the calm waters of the ocean a breathtaking sunset. We couldn’t have asked for any better setting! It was perfect!
Guests soon started to arrive including Fiorella’s mother, sister, grandmothers, relatives and many friends as well as many of Justin’s known acquaintances from his previous employment here in Peru. In all, we must have been around 70 people. A webcam was also installed so that Justin’s brothers Eric and Patrick with Sabrina could watch from Canada live from Peru his wedding.
Being a “Civil Ceremony Wedding”, the Justice of the Peace finally arrived at 7:00pm and at 8:00pm in front of all of us parents, family and friends, Justin and Fiorella exchanged their Wedding Vows “to love and to honor, in sickness and in health, till death do us part”! The vows were said in Spanish and at one time, it was Justin's turn to talk but somehow, wasn’t talking at all…..it could have been the jitters or the language or he could have just been dreaming! We’ll never know! Regardless, it was quite a romantic moment, a touching moment and a moment to cherish and remember forever! It was just unfortunate that Justin’s grandparents couldn’t witness his wedding live from Canada…and this all due to a miscommunication with everything happening!
The newlywed couple then sealed their marriage with a kiss in which they kissed and kissed again and kissed again….before doing a magnificent dance in front of all of us which ended quite spectacular with Justin throwing Fiorella backwards. I asked Justin afterwards if they had practice and he said no….it was all done on the spur of the moment! How romantic! My son the professional dancer!
A five meal course dinner was then served to all of us guests as well as a glass of Don Perignon, white or red wine and whiskey. For dessert, we had a delicious piece of cake from the quite impressive four level high wedding cake.
In the evening, everyone chatted together and blended quite well. We got to meet Fiorella’s family and friends as well as Justin’s work acquaintances. It was quite an extraordinary evening and through this all…. can you believe this….I never cried. Too busy taking pictures!
By 11:30pm, everyone was quite tired. We all went our own separate ways leaving behind the lovebirds for the night.
It was a wonderful and magnificent wedding, February 11, 2011, a date to remember forever!
