Today was a rain day so we took the opportunity to visit Golden, in the foothills behind Denver.  At the Quilt Council meeting on Saturday I was reminded that Colorado is a hotbed for quilting and the home of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum.  As luck would have it, we arrived on the last day of the current exhibit and of occupancy in the old building, and on one of the first days that the new site was open, so got to see two shows.  As the exhibitions change four times a year, we got to see six months of exhibits!  I say we, because although Don protests, he is become quite knowledgeable about techniques and trends in quilting.  I don't think he minded too much.  After walking the main street and lunch - Golden is a great place to visit - we took a trip through the Clear Creek Canyon (I think) along hwy 6.  What a beautiful drive even though it was cloudy with a threat of rain.  A late afternoon stop at the grave site of Buffalo Bill Coady also allowed us an overlook of Denver and beyond to the Great Plains.
