We hoped to have dinner with Scott but he was unable to find us, so we will have to wait until our return to see him. He is living about an hour and a half away from this park, a little further than we had originally planned, but we can work with this.
I love the Arizona sunsets so used some free time this evening to walk to the gates that overlook irrigated farmland to watch the sun set. The skies did not disappoint.
After a couple of hours of internet research and phone calls we had flights booked from Phoenix airport tomorrow afternoon and had decided on a possible parking spot for the RV. Crossing our fingers, we headed for an Escapee member park south of Phoenix. As they do not take reservations, we arrived to find that they did not have a site with hook-ups that would accommodate us but we could 'boondock' for the night (no hook-ups) and hope to get a full service site tomorrow or shut the coach down totally and leave it in the boondock space. Because we have food in the freezer, we weren't too excited about this but also didn't want to head out looking for other space as we felt this spot had the security we were seeking and a good price. About an hour after our arrival, one of the members left the park for the season and we were told we could have their spot in the morning!
