Today we opted to do another driving exploration - this time on James and Kiawah Islands.  We discovered that little public space remains and many gated communities follow this part of the coast.  All the roads have evacuation route signs, making one wonder what it must be like to have a home located on flat sandy ground, only a few feet above the level of the ocean and surrounded by marsh and mud flats.
During the afternoon, we drove through miles of oak tree arches and were successful if finding the famous Angel Oak tree.  What a specimen!  Many of the trees are quite large, but this one was spectacular.  The spread of the tree would be about the size of half a hockey rink.
Time for some household stuff - groceries and laundry.  We haven't used a coin wash in 40 years - another first in our list of experiences on this trip!
