Hello Friends and Family,
We have arrived safe and sound in Australia and have so far avoided being bitten or stung (may I emphasize so far). Sydney is a beautiful city and one of our favorites on our travels. The weather is perfect, the buildings are very cosmo and new, and the vibe is friendly and inviting. We stayed our first night in Kings Cross (I guess the seedy district in Sydney) and later met up with our Friend Anna (who we met at the Nananua-I-Ra Island in Fiji) and a few other English bloaks at a bars called Cheers. We played a trivia bar game and won $40 to use at the bar, and we did! It was our first bar night on the trip, and it was a great time. We hope to meet up with Anna at least one more time before she takes off for Africa. We headed back to our seedy hostel, and rested up for the next day of exploring Sydney. It was a beautiful day on Monday and we zipped around Sydney's harbor and checked out the views from the ferries. The Sydney Opera House is beautiful, and the bridges are as intriguing as they are different. Conor and I cruised around the Marina Museum, but opted out of the Submarine tour ($25). We were planning on meeting up with Conor's friend from middle school who we ran into in the Wildlife Bird park in New Zealand, Sarah, who just happened to live in Sydney with her husband Julian. We met for drinks and then headed over to their neighborhood across the bay. It was a great area with a fun feeling and cool houses. They had just moved in 4 days before, and their house was great! They have 2 pups (Doogle-Bulldog and Gwen-Boxer mix) who are so cute and Doogle makes me want a bulldog! We encountered our first wildlife at Sarah's and snapped some pics of the rather large and menacing looking spiders that lived in the shadows. We found out later that they were harmless to humans, but there are many other that are not..... We had a great time going out on a pub crawl that night, and kept Sarah and Julian out late on a work night. Sorry Guys! The next day we took a ferry to Manly Beach where tons of kids were out on the beach at Gym class, which includes Surfing, Beach Volleyball, Boogie Boarding, and getting tan, not like my P.E. at First Colonial!! We had passed an area with a netted "pool" on the bay which was a "shark-free" swimming spot.....ahhh a net is going to keep a massive shark out....ahh I am not convinced..... We decided that we needed to hear the acoustics of the Opera House so we bought tickets to the Mozart Compilation Symphony and it was amazing! The sound was great and we felt so sophisticated going to the Symphony... We made the last ferry to Balmine and walked back to Sarah and Julians. They were so great to let us stay with them and have a home base in Sydney. It is such a small world, and it seems to get smaller by the day! Thanks again for everything guys, and thanks for the familiar faces and a bit of home on our travels! We hope to meet up with you again soon. We are heading out to Port Macquarie today and hopefully check out some Koalas. We will be camping and staying at holiday parks so a bit, so we hope to check in and update the travel blog soon. We miss you all and we will try to stay out of the shark rich areas. I do want to eat Shark while I am here, and Kangaroo and maybe even crocodile too....Yummy. And of course we will have to have some 'shrimp on the barbie.' Talk to you soon - Lots of love,
Molly and Conor

Good to get a little bit of home
I'm sure it was nice to stay in a house and get a little bit of home along your travels. What a wide array of experiences ... skydiving and a refined night at the symphony! You guys should write a book. We miss you. I'm sending videos and pictures right now.
