We spent the morning catching up with our Laundry and had organised to meet Anthony, Devi and Cerys for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.

We picked up something to eat on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. It was a nice cafe and Cerys slept through the entire thing. It was 4pm by the time we had fnished which left us very little time before we had to meet some friends for dinner!

Anthony was driving today and he first took us to Bel Air where we explored some of the residential streets star spotting. We didn't see anything except a lot of very exclusive looking homes with big gates and private security. We then followed a Star Spotting tour bus for a short while. These are organised tours of the area where they take tourists to see famous people’s homes. Of course you can only see them from the outside! After a few minutes of stalking the stalker bus we realised this was probably going a bit too far and diverted off towards Rodeo Drive where we saw all the luxury boutiques and designer shops.

After driving through part of Beverly Hills we headed into Hollywood along Sunset Boulevard and through the Sunset Strip where all the movie stars party and get caught on camera doing things they would rather not have caught on camera. We quickly jumped out the car to take a look at the Hollywood Walk of Fame where we saw the stars for Ben Kingsley, John Travolta, Bruce Lee, Shrek and a bunch of others we had never heard of.

We were running out of time to meet our friends for the evening so without a peep at the Hollywood sign we had to head back to Venice. Now we got our first taste of LA traffic. It was now rush hour and the roads were jammed in every direction. 6 lane freeways gridlocked. It took us quite some time to get back and we were running late. Luckily we were headed to a place just around the corner from where we were staying.

We met up with some friends that we have met in Australia 18 months ago. They suggested a Chinese called Mao’s Kitchen in Venice Beach, which turned out very convenient for us. The food was great but unfortunately they couldn’t stay longer than the meal so Van and I ventured on to a Bar they suggested with a live band. We stayed an hour and the music was really great. After a few drinks we called it a night in preparation for making the most of the one day we had remaining in LA!
