I've started the new contract job which is based around a ten minute bus ride from where I'm living. It's very easy to get to work and the office is nice. All the offices in the whole area are very new looking and house goverment departments. I'm working for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. So far I've just been reviewing documentation and shadowing a colleague as I can't yet even login to the network as CASA are awaiting my security clearance. Hopefully this will arrive early next week and I'll be able to start working on the project I've been tasked with. The other people seem nice and hopefully all will go well.

Canberra seems really nice. There is a great Thai restaraunt around 10 minutes walk from the house. I had a spicy squid salad and a divine started comprising of pork, prawn and chesnut wrapped in a thin Tofu layer. Yum! The food was very authentic. The city is also good, I've been in a couple of times and it seems to be a lively and interesting place.

I've been stocking up with food at the local Woolworths and thankfully it's been able to get all my essential ingredients. Things like Kaffir lime leaves, palm sugar, good quality curry pastes, fish sauce and chilli sambal etc. They have great fish here is Australia. Farmed Basa fillets only cost aroun $1.50 each and are delicious in a curry.

Sharon, the lady who's house I'm staying in, has been so welcoming and has made my stay a joy. She is doing so personal development education with a company called Landmark and she visits Sydney quite often. She therefore offered me a lift in to Darling Harbour yesterday, an offer I too her up on immediately. I spent the day wandering around the Darling Harbour area of Sydney. I visited the Aquarium and Wildlife world. The aquarium is truly a world class venue and I spent around 3 hours enjoying the amazing exhibits. The platypus enclosure at the start was a special treat as were the tunnels with Dugongs, Rays and sharks. Truly excellent. Wildlife world was also great, seeing Koalas, wallabys, kangaroos, all sorts of lizards, snakes and spiders.

In the evening we went to a great Sushi  with another of Sharons friends who is a singer, musician. The food was exceptional!

Today we had a barbecue in the garden with Sharons daughter, her husband and another friend. They're all a really good bunch and we had a great time playing some drums and keeping the fire going.

Tonight I may stay up late to try and catch the Wimbledon final, I may have missed 95% of the matches but at least I can try and watch this one.
