We have been in Santiago 4 nights, staying at the pleasant Patio Suiza B&B, and later today we take the first of our flights with LAN airlines to Los Angeles. The flight takes 13 hours with a short touchdown in Lima, Peru. We then have a 6 hour wait in LA before catching the next 14 hour flight with Cathay Pacfic to Hong Kong. We then have only one hour before our final Cathay Pacific flight to Bangkok! It's a crazy journey but by missing off the continent of Australasia, this has actually saved us quite a bit of money going this route.

In Bangkok we are spending the first 3 nights at a simple hotel then we have booked 2 nights at the 5 star Millenium Hilton for a bit of much needed luxury. Our time in Bangkok will be spent applying for a visa for Burma (Myanmar) and doing some Thai cooking classes.

We have really enjoyed our 5 months in Central and South America. We have seen so much and experienced so many wonderful things. Now we are about to embark on the second leg of our adventure, 7 months in Asia. Can't wait!
