The Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad is located in these southern suburbs in an area that Stalin intended to replace the old Tsarist city as the new center of Leningrad. It's now a fun place to wander through to enjoy all the charming "Stalinist Classic" style buildings and remaining Lenin statues. Also in the neighborhood is the pretty little pink Cesme Church, built at exact spot Catherine the Great heard of Russia's victory in the Battle of Cesme.
