Yeah.....the other Indiana University students will arrive tomorrow. Sorry this is such a short entry. I hope everyone is enjoying my stories. I can't wait to download pictures soon. (Sorry about the italics, I can't figure out how to turn it off). I couldn't find my brother of another mother to help me, so hopefully he can help tomorrow. I washed my clothes for the first time ever, in a bucket. I had one of the guys take a picture of me. Before I left home I bought some Indiana University shirts for the children here. I had a few of them put them on and I took some pictures. I am trying to promote IU throughout Kenya. Ha...Ha....
I just found out yesterday that Kenyans do celebrate birthdays. Nothing like in the United States but they have cake. A "professional" cake maker is making me a cake for my 25th birthday, which is on April 26. I will have to take a picture and show it to you.
Here is my new phone number: Country code (+254) 0724 690685. I am not sure if you have to put a 0 in front of 724. I will carry my phone on me all of the time, so you can call whenever.
Love ya always,
Jacquie
P.S. Grandma and Grandpa, when you pick me up from the airport May 6 I would appreciate a banana cream pie from Baker's Square :-)

hi there
hey jacquie.
It sounds like you are enjoying yourself and your new and different environment, i can't wait to see your photos!!! It sounds like you have already learned a lot about their culture and customs. I'm trying to make sure that Grandpa and Grandma are able to see all your blogs. (they lost the 1st email with your website so I had to forward it to them). Anyways, the weather here is nice, about 50, well, 50 degrees in Illinois, maybe it's warmer in Indy. Take care and I'll see ya soon.
Missy
I MISS YOU TONS!!
HI JACQUIE!! I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THAT YOU ARE DOING WELL. I DON'T KNOW WHO ELSE WOULD BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH SUCH ADVERSITY SO GRACEFULLY, I MEAN FALLING OFF THE BIKE, SERIOUSLY. SO HAVE YOU WORN THE FANNY PACK OR ARE YOU WAITING TO GO INTO THE RAINFOREST. THINGS ARE GOING OK HERE, I HAVE BEEN RATHER SICKLY BUT TRYING TO KEEP UP. I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO BUY A CALLING CARD. BYE! ELIZABETH
Hey Solideo!
Hey there, hope all is well over yonder. Things are great here. Have you met anyone that can click and clack yet? Keep me informed. Have a great time, and remember to dig deep to get the most out of your hole. Also, calendar is marked for Chicago ladies! Chris
Funny Girl
Hey Jacquie! You are so funny! I am so glad to hear from you and I am glad that you are doing well. I love the funny stories and I can't wait to see the pictures! I bet you can't wait to have some banana cream pie!!! Anyway have a good time and teach the kids a couple of things about Indiana would ya??
Luv ya, Brooke
Great Stories!
Oh Miss Jacquie... I love to read your stories! I share them with my host teacher and she loves to hear them as well! I thought she was going to die of laughter when I told her about your little translation problem! :) Don't feel bad about the kids not understanding you.... my second graders speak English and there are times that they don't understand what I'm saying! I hope you enjoy the others from IU!
hey
hey jacquie,
what's up? where are those photos??? Guess I'll see them once you return (just kidding). When do you get to go on the safari? Just wanted to say hi. Take care!
