Mo's Entry

We hooked up with our friends Henneke and Thomas on our 24 hour boat trip from Lombok to Flores.  Little did I know I would be punching some guy in the head during the night...more later.  Thomas and Henneke speak Indonesian well and were able to fanagle us a good spot to put our matresses away from the mass of people and luggage...and I do mean luggage, boxes, whatever they could carry aboard.  We settled in for our meal of rice and bitter fish (which I couldn't eat) and read books and slept til we arrived in Lombok....except for the middle of the night when I woke up to find a man crouching at my feet lifting my skirt.  I got so mad I leaped up, chased him down and punched him a few times.  I came back to a sleeping Mike, Thomas and Henneke and realized they hadn't noticed I was gone...had trouble sleeping after that.

Loved all the diving...I especially liked being so well looked after on the boat...even had someone slip on my fins for me and wash out my mask. We ate like kings and played a few rounds of crib at night!  After the diving Mike Heeneke and I decided to head to an almost deserted island. Kanawa, and relax after all that hard diving...did some snorkelling and even had some 'wild' deers to feed.

Mike's entry

On Danny'sss Diving boat 3 day 2 night 7 dives in Komodo national marine park and a hike. to go see the Komodo dragon. Awesome diving! Got to see our first manta rays! Spectacular to see them in action. The color of the coral and the varied under water life made Komodo national marine park as good as anywhere I have gone diving. Thomas, Henneke, Mo and myself had a great time with the Danny'sss diving crew on and off the boat. The food and the atmosphere were great. The weather was also great which allowed us to sleep on the roof of the boat under the moon and stars of the southern hemisphere. When you see the southern cross constellation you know you are not in Kansas anymore. Can't wait to do something like this again. I wonder what Thomas and Henneke are doing in a couple of years?

Sofia on

The owner of Danny'sss Diver (daniel Yusuf) seemed really nice at the time of booking, promissed us and experienced divemaster that had excelent knowledge about the waters and he also promissed us good safety on the boat and so on (now i dont now if he got PADI at all!!). We didnt got thaT at all! Our divemaster didnt have a dive master degree, he had no cl ue what he was doing, he hadnt dived more than a few times in the lap of 8 years and also he hadnt dived the divesites before, and if he had, just once or twice! As komodo wathers are really tuff whit very hard currents, i dont lie when i say he almost got us killed! It ended with that sofia got decompression sickness because we where brought up by a awfully powerful current (the divemaster got us in to wathers you schuldnt dive at all). Luckely the decompression sickness is mild, but not less scary. They didnt know anything about decompression sickenss and they didnt have oxygen on the boat! We had to ask other centers for help. When we demanded money back the owner of the center, together with a bunch of men, was really offensive, treatened us really bad and said he was going to have all money, otherwise we would never leave Labuan Bajo. And acctually he hit sofia in the face!! We went to the police but of course they where on the dive centers side as they where locals an d seem to be friends with the owner. As we where really scared we had to do what the owner demanded.
