Anjuna Beach & Arambol.
Full moon is out and after 3 months of almost everyday together and the lack of sleep in Mumbai Mo and I are getting on each others nerves. Took us a day to get it back together. 1 bad day every 3 months is a pretty good thing. Anyway going to the beach and doing some body surfing is good way to for me to get back to normal. The restaurants around Anjuna beach and town are varied and delicious. At Diego's cafe we had the most delicious fruit salad and it was put together like a piece of artwork; (it's hard to beat fresh tropical fruit). We also had our introduction to Goan curries and vindaloo both are deliciously spicy. They also had (in my opinion) the best tandoori dishes in India. And of course heaps of seafood including lobster and giant prawns. Then there is the beaches (tanning, reading, body surfing) and the markets and a concert in Vagator and before you know it 9 days have passed
Yes..it was pretty good...especially meeting the Aussies.
I did have a few tough moments trying to ride a scooter....having no experience riding scooters I suddenly found myself on a scooter in the middle of a city...riding around the rings of death. I should have known when I got on the scooter to give it a try and practically ran into a vendor across the road that it wasn't a good idea to ride it into town.
Nicole then told me to try riding it down the road and suddenly we were on our way to Mapusa for the Saturday market. It all went well at first, though I cursed Mike for being sick and not being able to drive the scooter. We had a great breakfast of Idli and Masala Dosa in a local joint and I bought some Pashmina before Nicole had us follow her to her dentist's office. Suddenly I was in a round about with traffic on all sides of me, including buses and trucks. We got to the dentists but my hands were trembling when I got off the scooter. I didn't much feel like getting back on but we took the long way home and made it safley...don't worry mom!
