We left from Copenhagen early headed for Stockholm. We changed trains in Lund.. just north of Malmö.
We were pulled up by border police just north of Lund. They gave us the twenty questions.. but I think they soon realised we were legitimate travellers. They did ask if we were Americans. When they heard we were from Australia they told us, "Ah.. that's good!" and we all shared a laugh.
Once we arrived in Stockholm.. we had about three hours to do a few things we needed to do. For me.. my primary concern was getting a few track pants for Finland. I did have a pair.. but I left them in Switzerland! Trying to find clothes in a foreign city..
Fortunately.. I found a tourist information office close to Stockholm Central. Unfortunately.. although he gave me directions to a five level department store.. track pants were about the only thing they didn’t sell! They did sell clothes.. but with brands like Hugo Boss.. Tommy Hilfiger.. etc.. there was no way I was blowing my wad on threads from that store.
I asked a staff member there if they could recommend me to another (hopefully close-by) store.. perhaps a sports apparel store. She did.. and it was close. I picked up two pairs for about 40 euros. Not bad I thought.
We took a metro train to the harbour. A short walk away was the ferry terminal. Well.. I say ferry because THEY say ferry.. but it’s a cruise ship. Check the photos.
Andrew and I enjoyed a few drinks.. met some fun Swedish guys and that about it. I slept all the way to Turku.
