Today we visited the preserved ruins of Pompeii, Italy.  The entire city was buried in over 13 feet of Mount Vesuvius volcano ash and pumice, suffocating its inhabitants in 79 AD.

It was astonishing to see how well preserved the town was, and it showed such advanced features such as water running into public fountains and homes, restaurants, merchants, public baths and libraries, and of course the renowned brothels of Pompeii.
