Time sure flies by, when you're having fun.

Yesterday was just one of those days. It started with some fantastic sightseeing in the Margeret River wine region, visiting the best, award winning wineries like Leeuwin Estate, Voyager and also some smaller ones, Watershed and Flametree. It was another hot day, but we're keeping it cool. In our Toyota Kruger we passed beautiful scenery, looked at some surfers at Surfers Point, amazing waves!, and enjoyed the quiet roads.

After Josephine's afternoon nap, we had planned a Twilight boat trip on Geographe Bay. The tourist season is only just starting, so there aren't many travellers yet. There were only 5 of us on the boat, 2 Australian-British ladies, and us.

Our main goal was to spot some whales, Humpback & Blue whales visit this area from July till December, just before they move down to Antarctica. But at the tourist information we were told that the season was pretty much over, so we should just hope for dolphins and the seal colony.

Not counting on anything, you can imagine our surprise when we spotted a Humpback calf, playing in the bay. It was joined by his mother too, we saw her taking a big dive, tail popping up. Incredible!!

After that the seal colony was a nice dessert, but we were all still very excited about this encounter with the whales. Dave our captain, also mentioned he saw some blue whales that day, but they were not to be seen again.

So anytime you want to visit Dunsborough, we do recommend to take a trip to Geographe bay, you might be lucky. Like us!
