Yesterday we visited the National Museum of Natural History. There we encountered everything you need to know about the earth - and beyond. In the entrance we were greeted by a large African elephant, only to be surprised by a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the prehistoric hall. The presentation is fantastic! We have included some pictures that tell the tale of the Triceratops, Allosaurus, Megalodon, Stegosaurus and Pteradon.

After gazing at prehistoric skeletons, we moved on to the other sections of the museum. There we were educated on volcanoes, the earth's tectonics and meteorites. Naturally, we had to take a look at Emperor Napoleon's jewelry presents to his beloved Josephine. There we also saw the infamous Hope Diamond, a large, 45.52-carat, deep blue diamond. Legend tells us that whoever owns the diamond suffers a terrible fate.

After the Museum of Natural History we enjoyed one of the coolest days I have experienced during my visit to DC. As the shadows grew longer we enjoyed this tranquil day, and whilst teaching Josephine how to fly, we reflected on primeval beasts and diamond curses.
