06:00 wake-up call. Our flight departs Lisbon at 10:30. We are at the airport by 08:00 to drop off the car. Our connection in Madrid is seamless. In Madrid all U.S. bound passengers are separated from the other passengers and rigorously searched. To my knowledge, we are the only people in Europe who have to remove our shoes, and have our hand baggage checked twice. Our arrival back in Miami - 19:30, on the dot. Final cost of the trip came to just over US$ 1,400.00 each, US$ 100.00 under budget.
