Chapter Five - A surprising last day
Trip Start Jul 18, 2012

A relaxing day to drive around the nearby countryside. We visit nearby Worcester to photograph typical New England scenes.
But Karen is full of surprises. We have yet to experience the oddest.
"Put your rock n' roll gear on. We’re off to listen to the blues."
We drive up to roadside tavern to find the car (!) park full of powerful motor cycles.
“What’s this, Karen?” exclaims Miryam, fearful for her life and limb
“Welcome to Cady’s. It’s a biker’s joint. Cheap beer and good music! We come here all the time.”
Wow, Karen’s sure with it. We enjoy the cheap beer and great blues music, but of course we are totally out of place…no glossy black leather, no glittering chains, no beards, no bandanas, and we are not accompanied by good looking sozzled chicks (Miryam and Karen are of course good looking chicks, but they aren’t sozzled, more’s the pity). I am in awe of the whole thing. I know someone who would have been right at home here, no Suzanne?
We end our day and our delightful holiday weekend back at Talley’s Corner preparing a genuine shepard’s pie from my mum’s secret recipe book.
