The intrepid "Ratu Morgan Polo Levu" last left you with the the tale of stolen headphones. As you will see from the following entry, the bad luck continues but fails to dampen our hero's resolve. See also the lazy person entry at the bottom of the page.

As some of you would have heard, Fiji is now Rugby 7's World Champions! In the recent Hong Kong 7's tournament Fiji was victorious over New Zealand to capture the trophy and the hearts of the nation. Immediately after the game had finished the streets filled with Indo-Fijians and Fijians alike, cars beeping, people yelling with joy, Fiji flags aplenty all celebrating this momentous occasion.

7's RUGBY EXPLAINED: 7's is basically rugby but with only 7 players as opposed to the traditional brand of 15. I'm no expert, but it seems as though this is rugby's answer to 1 day cricket, fast paced short games with high scoring and lots of really awesome runs.

RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE: There are 3 main religions in Fiji. Christianity, Hinduism, and Rugby (especially 7's).

Work wise I have been working on a content management system to allow non-technical staff to update the new lands website. Also managed to get funding and approval to get the site online after sitting on it for quite some time. Ended up just teaching the skills and getting local staff to perform most of the work and design on the site and I think they have done pretty well. Quite proud and at least I know that they will be able to maintain it when I leave. Check out the site on www.lands.gov.fj and if you have any serious problems or see some glaring errors please drop me an email on morgan@lands.gov.fj

LAZY PERSON ENRTY.

Fiji won Rugby 7's World Cup. A national holiday was declared to welcome home players and on the same day my house was robbed with most of my electronic gear stolen. In other news I am currently rocking around Suva on a scooter, which is wicked.

Having a few visitors really soon, Orly in 3 days, Suze in a bit, Lia in a bit, Ditch and his international gang of chaos a little after that. Postponed my trip to Samoa briefly to attend a massive Hindi wedding.
