Entry 11 of 12 | show all | print this entry

I almost skipped going to the mall here. There are several but this is the really big well known one MBK.  I don't really want much but the experience is amazing like nothing else I have ever seen. It is loud, crowded, 7 floors of any possible thing you could imagine.  Rows and rows of jewelery stores, mobile phone stores, food stores, department stores.  Just overwhelming. Andrea you would not even be a match for this place.

I visited the Jim Thompson House. Turns out he was born in Greenville DE!  small world.  He was here during th war and later returned. He was an architect and built this amazing house out of 5 separate traditional Thai buildings and decorated it with traditional Thai artifacts and paintings from earlier centuries. He stared the modern day Thai silk industry by reviving the traditional Thai silk production methods and opening a business. He disappeared with no trace in Malaysia in 1967  at age 61. It was rumored he was a CIA agent.  Place was beautiful.

On my last day I finally found a really fast internet connection
