This morning we got up late. We had slept extremely well in our comfortable beds and were looking foward to the day ahead. It was my birthday so I got to choose what we did for the day. After a delicious buffet breakfast we made our way to the roof top pool before heading out to the ancient markets of Bonn. They were bustling with life, and the noise was deafening. There was all sorts of little stalls there, selling things ranging from tourist items to grocery. I bought a few souveniers and Mum bought some traditional German food for us to try, while Adam and Dad went off to look at 'boy things.'

After the markets we all went to enjoy lunch on the banks of the Rhine which consisted of the famous German sausages that were served with mustard and bread. They were surprisingly nice, for sausages, but I guess they are the German speciality. Mum told us that the person that sold her the sausages said that there were around 1500 'species' of sausages in Germany, and that in his opinion these were the best (this was probably just to get her to buy them though).

After lunch we made our way to Johanniter Krankenhaus, which is the hospital that I  was born in exactly 13 years ago. It was amazing to see the balcony where mum held me on all those years ago. After the hospital we visited our old appartment in Freezdorf and I saw my very first room. It was in good condition and now has a bike shop underneath instead of the office that used to be there. It felt so weird to visit the Hospital and the appartment where my life started.

We returned to our hotel and I received my birthday presents. They had got me a pile of German sausages as a joke, because I liked them so much, and a pair of ski's for when we go skiing tomorrow. I was very pleased with the skis, but didn't want to get them damaged, so I put them away.

For dinner we went to a restaraunt called Brauhaus Bonnsch, where I had a veal casserole, which I thought was delicious! After dinner we went to our hotel and packed up for the train ride tomorrow before going to bed.
