At the bus station we were lucky again because there was one man who spoke English and he helped us to find the right bus
Once in Baroda we went to the train station to leave our bags so we could walk around the city. We started out by walking around the main park and checking out the art museum. It was a pretty hot day so we followed the example of the students we saw and sat on the grass in the shade for awhile. Baroda is full of students and we passed a bunch of college buildings as we were walking around. Next, we walked to the old city and shopped for punjabi suits for the reception. We had dinner in this nice cafe and then headed for the train station again. Once there we realized we still had a lot of time so we walked around the shops that were close to the train station and found a tailor who would take in the clothes we had bought. At the train station again we took advantage of the air conditioned room that is available to ac passengers and then went back to get our outfits. At the train station one final time we met up with Nameeta's parents and they helped us to get on the train.
For this train ride we were sharing our compartment with a man and woman who lived on Gandhi's ashram. The man was 86 years young (in his own words) and asked us a lot about ourselves. He also told us that at some point he would tell us about women and their role in the world.
