A sedately drive up from Auckland took us to Waitangi in the Bay of Islands. As usual, before departing Auckland we had perused every sheepskin boot shop in the city, despite K already being about 5 Kilos over her baggage allowance. We eventually found another great campsite by the Harura Falls and spent the morning out kayaking. The kayaking in a flat bay was a little less challenging than the previous high seas monster fish adventure. How bizarre that whilst kayaking, and after the previous days doggy wash joke, we saw another pampered pooch in a doggy life jacket – NZ dog owners need to man up. In the afternoon we took the car ferry over the Russell and gentle ambled south stopping at every gorgeous beach. As usual, another cracking day in NZ.
