Today we went to Chartres, it took about an hour by train from Gare Montparnasse. It was a cute little city and a gorgeous day. We came out of the train station and went in search of the tourist office to see what museums there were to visit and see if there were any interesting exhibits, but we just started wondering down some tiny streets and instead came upon the main street with all these really cute shops. We even found one store with some photo supplies, so it's a possibility if I can't find the right stuff. We also saw this little trinket shop where Nessa found some really cute gifts for her and her sisters. Then we came upon the cathedral. It's truly one of the better cathedrals I've seen with a couple of different styles making what it is today. So after going in we found that it had a little art exhibit going on and that there was crypt visits available. Nessa and I jumped at the chance to go in the crypt and it was only 2 euros. So 15 minutes later us and three other couples were following our French speaking guide down under the cathedral. It was a dark and spooky area and I loved it! ? We even saw were the Norman's once through bodies down a whole, though I didn't exactly catch why. And we saw many tiny chapels for the clergy and one that was way down under with old murals on the wall that were fading away, but you could tell that they were once truly magnificent. After the crypt we were famished so we found a little Chinese restaurant and sat down and had French Chinese, woohooo!!! It was good, but I'm not sure if I like it better than our American Chinese, go figure, but it was definitely very filling. Afterwards we just walked around a little more before going back to Paris, but we saw something for some reason I never thought to see in a normal store, Ducks and rabbits hanging upside down with their fur and feathers still intact, but their heads were wrapped in aluminum foil and I don't know why. Hmmm questions to ponder.
