Bonjour all,

Since the last blog we have been enjoying big city life in Barcelona. Five days of sight seeing, shopping, cafes, walking (lots  of) and my Barcelona FC v Shackle04 FC in a Champions league 1/4 final at the Nou camp stadium, a stadium I`ve always wanted to go to ever since Gary Linekar played for Barcelona. Not a great game but a good experience and what a first live game for Marja who has never been to a match before.

It was great to see Gaudi's architectural wonders for real and not in a book ot on tv.... ( I wish someone would get their finger out and finish the Holy Family Cathedral...I would like to see it finished in my life time). Barcelona has plenty of Modernist buildings to admire, more than we imagined. Five days enjoying Barcelona knocked a hole in the budget but it was worth every penny.

We have visited Montserrat which is a monastery perched on top of a mountain, we cycled 85km from Sant Feliu de Guixols to Girona and back (talk about saddle sore). Our last stop in Spain was the Dali Theatre Museum in Figueres, which was fantastic to see some of the surrealistic work for real and not printed on posters or postcards from Athena or WH Smiths.

We are now in the south of France and intend to see the highlights along the coast before getting to Italy.

Marja has at last driven Banksy and she was so excited I don't think she hasn't stopped smiling yet. We have covered over 3000 km and it's still a pleasure to drive on these roads. We will upload some photos as soon s we can.
