Well my time in Fernie has come to and end. The time here was a mix of everything. Before Simon went back to work up north I helped him stain the nice new timber fence he has built around his second house in Fernie. We nearly got it all completed  ;except for a few panels which  ;have been delayed due to the weather. The other job we completed  was installing the clothsline pole  at the backfence. This is a&n bsp;5 metre long steel pole that we need to concrete into the ground. Once the concrete was in the ground we lifted the po le into place. The first time  we tried the pole slipped and clocked me on the chin and bounced off my shoulder but did&nbs p;disprove the theory that I have a  glass chin (Adam that was for you).
Apart from the little bit of work around Simon's place that I did we spent one day hiking one of the "easier" trails up the side of Mount Fernie. I have since come to the conclusion that my body wasn't built for mountain hiking and though I am still a little sore in my legs I am glad I completed the hike Remains of old coking ovens near Fernie

. As there were plenty of time when I was ready to turn around and head back down before reaching the top. I suppose I have my motivational coach Heather to thank for that. Another day Simon and I headed up to one of the mountain lakes and took his dog Samba for a swim.
Also mid week Sam, Krista and I went to the movies in Fernie to see the Simpson movie, it only cost $12 for all 3 of us (an absolute bargin in my books). After the movie we found a quiet pub to have a few cold beers and then started walking home about 11.30pm. We got half way down the main street and heard some loud music playing down one of the side streets. We investigated and found one of the other pubs in town had DJs playing till 3am so seeing none of us were tired we headed in for a few more drinks. We must of had a few cause I ended up gettting up and dancing, which as most of you know doesn't happen alot. It was quite difficult to really break out all my dance moves on a rather sticky dance floor whilst wearing my rubber thongs (a.k.a single pluggers). We ended up getting home about 3.30am and the next day was spent lazing around the house.
I finally left Fernie on Thursday and spent the night in Calgary on the way to the hotel Heahter and I picked up Simon's mother and her partner from the airport and then had dinner at my hotel before they headed off back to Fernie leaving me to have a quiet night in Calgary. I decided to kick back and watch abit of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in my room. On Friday I spent the day wandering around Calgary before meeting up with an old work buddy Kyle Hobbs and his girlfriend Jamie after dinner and headed west into the mountains to Kyle's parents' lodge in Canmore (near Banff).

Thats enough for now, hear from you all soon.
