Well I am finally here - LAS VEGAS
And let me tell you it was a fair trip just to get here.
First was the trip from Sydney to the USA where the girl beside me about two-thirds into the trip had a rather large panic attack which sent the staff on the plane looking for a doctor who was busy checking on another traveller. This meant I was moved to another seat which happened to be a dreaded middle seat so I had to sit perfectly still for the next 3.5 hours till we arrived in San Francisco.
After a small wait in San Fran we were all boarded for the flight to Vegas. Now I don't know what happened next exactly as I kept nodding off. But the plane taxied out to the runway only to stop then turn around and head back to the terminal with some maintenace issue. They kept us on the plane thinking the delay wouldn't be too long, which was wrong as we sat there for a good 2 hours before finally taking off
After finally landing in Vegas I have decided to avoid United airline in the future as much as possible as I was quite disappointed with there overall service. After a slight delay getting my luggage which was due to the massive crowd at hte airport I was finally in a taxi on the way to the Excalibur casino where I am staying.
When I arrived at the casino and checked in I arrived at my room to find it hadn't been cleaned and there were no clean towels (lucky I bring my own). After a few running battles over the phone with house keeping I am hoping to have this problem resolved today. I am struggling to recommend the Excalibur casino to anyone travelling to Vegas.
After all these set backs I headed out for the first night inVegas with a show at the MGM Grand. I saw Cirque de Soilel's KA and if any one is coming to Vegas I recommend seeing it as it is by far one of the most impressive shows I have ever seen. It is the only Cirque de Soilel show that actually has a show behind it and combined with skills of the performers and the actually stage itself make for a terrific show.
After the show I spent a few hours on tha tables at New York New York casino where I stayed last year when I was here and then finally hit the hay about 2 am. This meant I had about 3 hours of sleep in the last 30 hours before getting a good sleep last night.
I am now ready to tackle my first full day here in Vegas so I'll leave it at that so I can grab some breakfast. I'll report back once my few days in Vegas are complete.
Hope to hear from you all soon.
Mick

Vegas Casino's
What did you say to the girl that sent her into the panic attack?? Bet you're hard pressed to find Bundy in a can in Vegas!! There doesn't seem to be any premixed Jim Bean and coke in Canada- which is a drag for me. Check out the Tropicana - nice older casino with stained glass over the entire casino inside. Have fun! Shan
Make it 82 hours
You should have some sort of counter showing your cumulative flight hours. Hope you're enjoying Vegas, have you been to Fremont Street?
Hope your havin fun
Hey Mick. Hope your trip has settled down after that shitty flight and you are having a great time. Don't forget to send me a post card - Simone Whelan, 7 Comerford Court, Glenden QLD 4743. Not much happenin in GLENVEGAS. Good luck on the tables in Vegas, be safe Simone.
