Residing on an equestrian estate there are a lot of paths that have been created by nearby suburbs for people to walk/ride on their horses and also for general walking the dog and riding a bike. I go for the last option to ride a spare bike the farmer has as I do not feel comfortable at all in controlling a horse especially after having heard horror stories about them and did not want to add to any statistic with any issues. We went down to where there is a big waterhole to see it as it had been the wettest winter in Perth for a long time the dam was quite full. I have to say this isn't what interested me much but more so the view of the darling ranges adjacent to the cycle path was much more pleasing on the eye and in the sunset looked amazing.
This week was my turn to be a gardener in regards to planting flowers, herbs, fruits and also doing the weeding...this is no different to the orders that mum has me doing in the back garden...only problem is this is a bit of a bigger space than my back garden so the weeding took all in all 3 days to sort out but then the plating of cherry tomatoes and what not was not such a bad task
Previously when collecting the chickens egg, I had no real theory on how to actually collect these and had numerous different styles in doing so (some which I'm sure the RSPCA would tell me off for) however one of the children was showing me which chook was his and he gave me a tutorial in which I have know become a lot more comfortable in picking the chicky's up.
One of the farmers is actually a trained hairdresser and although he does men's hair he offered to trim mine. Somehow he made my hair even more curlier than it was but the well needed trim n the fringe was done and he saved me a few dollars before I went and got it done.
On the Friday when doing the clear up of the stables I have been very careful not to touch the electric fencing however on this day not only did I get an electric shock once but 3 times...needless to say it bloody hurt!
The family are quite adamant not to eat out much and cook foods from fresh produce but today (Friday 26) there was no time to cook as it was Bingo Night
One final plus point of this evening was the sky...I realised I hadn't taken time to look up late at night to view the sky but as they say better late than never the view of the clear black sky with stars everywhere was a sight I don't think I'll be forgetting anytime soon .
As it it Fathers Day in Oz on 4th Sept, we all went to Armadale shopping centre to go pick up some groceries and also buy the farmer a fathers day gift. The kids were also eyeing up a wireless router so they could play COD (Call of Duty - for those not aware) online. I was happy to assist as it meant I could also use the internet wirelessly instead of waiting for somebody to be off the computer and rather than using the 3G data allowance on my phone as it was dangerously running low. As I have set up a few wireless networks in my time it was happy days for everyone.
