Hello to all on the last day of 2006.
We are out of the rain and now a little burnt!!! The sun is rather hot here! This place is just beautiful and everyone is enjoying themselves. Yesterday the boys took an introductory dive course...they watched a video and then had a quick lesson. Next thing we knew they were walking into the ocean with all their equipment on to go on a dive!!! We got some pictures and then waited for them to come out. After an hour, nervous Nellie started to worry. Turned out they had gotten out of the water at another beach. They really enjoyed it and there was some discussion about them taking the 5 day full course, but I think it will be too much as we only have 5 days left. Ellie has met lots of friends, the funniest is when she plays with someone who speaks Italian or french and she has no idea...she just keep chatting. As far as the boys, they have had more difficulty but yesterday they hooked up with a boy their age. John and him have had lots of fun since. The parents are American (mom) and Canadian (dad) but they live in the UK. Small world as he works for Solomon and knows Jim Rogers and went to camp with Stu McKeough. The world is very small!!! Ellie has gone into the kids club a couple of times and John once. The kids are more Ellie's age. The other day they made and decorated cookies and John did join them as the helper. Liam and Mike went seadooing yesterday and Liam loved it. I jumped on board for a few minutes and was not liking it too much. Ellie has really learned how to swim on her own...diving in and swimming under water. We just got a life jacket for her so she can come snorkeling with us. The reefs are surprisingly nice....some live coral and lots and lots of fish. We love snorkeling past the underwater restaurant and waving to those eating lunch.
Last night Mike and I went out for dinner alone. The restaurant was a 12 seater that was outside and by the beach. The layout was beautiful as it was Japanese and built into the beach. We had an eight course meal which they cooked in front of us....unbelievable. The stars were out and there was a lovely breeze. The dynamics of the others there were quite funny....one group consisted of a dad, his 20ish daughter from his first marriage, his new young Japanese wife, little daughter and their nanny. The tension between them all was thick enough to cut with a knife. Made interesting watching!!!!
Tonight is New Years and there is a huge celebration. We are having dinner all together, minus Ellie, and then there is a show and dancing. It will be fun.
Wishing you all a very happy and safe New Year. Mitchell's I hope you got home safely, Jodi thanks for the message and hope all is well with Charlotte, and Lisa thanks for the update on the DQ gerbils.
Have a festive night tonight.......

Happy New Year
Thanks for the note Wendy...a belated birthday greeting to you. We wish we were in Palau or the Maldives right now on the beach.
We had Ian and Colleen and William over for a few days and Sean got to teach William how to go down his slide. We managed to get a babysitter last night and get out for an adult dinner, which was nice.
Adrienne is still doing well...looks like this will be an 07 birth as not much is happening.
Hugs and Kisses,
Geordie, Adrienne and Sean
