Starting from where I left off, TopShop was way more overwhelming than fun. The first couple floors were filled with clothes that were too expensive and not my style. When I finally arrived in the basement I found the 20 and under rack and felt more at home. My single purchase was a leopard cotton dress. I was rather excited by the fact that Top Shop gives a student discount but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.
On tuesday my history of London class took a field trip to the museum of London. I arrived a little early with a couple of friends to take a look around. We walked around the people of London area, which included this great fashion displays from the eras. Its amazing to see how different or similar american fashion was compared to London's fashion. Our class tour was in the Roman London exhibit. We are starting the history at approx 50 AD and moving to the 1960's. Roman London is very similar to other Roman history I have studied in the past. The only super interesting thing was the artifacts that we were allowed to touch and handle after the tour. The museum is made in mind for a younger audience, so the exhibits are a little childish for me. There is a temporary exhibit on doctors dissection and resurrection men that I would love to go back and see. It is cool to see the history of London in a non book form.
Today after class I decided to go for a jog in Regents Park. I got myself all pumped up but when I got out there I was too distracted by the parks beauty to run. The park as a whole reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. I was instantly inspired for a photo shoot idea. I have talked to some friends about my photography and they were really nice to volunteer themselves as models. I think once it gets a bit warmer out I will plan a shoot to do in the park. I spent a good hour walking around the park taking pictures of all the inspiring sights. It felt really good to have that feeling of inspiration, especially after yesterday stressors (I was buying a trip to Budapest that was a frustrating situation). I think a photo shoot in London would be an amazing thing to add to my portfolio of armature photography .
