Friday June 22... It's the last day at school before we begin our long service leave for 6 weeks + 2 weeks school hols. It's quite cold, especially at night and early morning. 6C this morning... It is a far cry for the 30+ degrees we will find on our trip.
Enough about the weather!!! We leave for Saigon or HCMC in Vietnam on Monday... The flight is at 11.45 pm... This could be good if we get some sleep.
We won't be taking much in the way of clothes as we hope to buy some gear in Vietnam and on our travels.
Some of the highlights I'm looking forward to are the trip up the Mekong to Phnom Penh.. Chiang Mai... sailing down the Mekong in Laos especially Luang Prabang. A really exciting part will be then returning to see Phuoc, our son in Vietnam, and travelling around with him. Snorkelling in Nha Trang will be great. I have purchased an underwater camera so I hope visibility is good.
Each time we get to a major city we hope to update this travel blog and keep our Loved ones informed of our whereabouts... It's a long way from the first time I travelled the world and had to write aerograms that took months to get home and people didn't know where I was for months at a time...
This is going to be a fabulous trip...
I have added a few pictures of the farm just in case we get a little homesick...Unlikely! Mainly so that Phuoc & friends can see where we live..
