This Calls for a Mountain Bike

OK, so after about twenty minutes of typing here, the power went out and I lost it all (I know, I shoud have been saving periodically). I'm not much in the mood to write it all again, so here's the short version:
Dalat is up in the mountains (about 5000 feet) and quite different from everywhere else I've been. All the winding, hilly streets and cool, clean mountain air give it a ski resort town kind of feel. All the money flowing through helps with that too. I rented a mountain bike and explored the surrounding countryside, which is covered with greenhouses and flower farms. Met a few other travelers, including some of those I'd met in Saigon. We all agreed that the super cheap pastries at the many local bakeries were among the best things about the town.
It's one of those places I'd gladly have lingered for a few extra days, just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. But I'm on a tight schedule here with only about ten days left on my visa, so I said goodbye to Dalat after two nights and a day.
I left early the next morning for Na Trang, on the coast a few hours east. It's a big beach town, but I've been to better beaches recently so I decided I could do without much time here. Had lunch, traded in a book, did a bit of emailing and bought a ticket for the night bus to Hoi An. Ah, the night bus. As if traveling on the roads of Vietnam wasn't unsafe and uncomfortable enough as it is.
