I didn't stay in La Paz for long. Actually liked the little bit of the city I got to see, but I wanted to catch the twice weekly train south to Uyuni and didn't want to have to wait four days for the next one. Early departure bonus: not being in the capital during the big referendum vote this Sunday when the President, Vice President, and 8 of 9 governors have their jobs on the line. So I had a veggie curry for dinner at the English style pub where I exchanged some books, spent one night in a surprisingly warm bed, and was on my way the next morning. Took the bus south to Oruro, where it snowed heavily while I waited a few hours for the train.
