In the last entry you may recall we landed half hour late. This meant us and another flight got off the planes at pretty much the same time. This meant we were queuing to go through customs for over an hour. This meant by the time we got to the car and out of the airport it was gone 8pm. I had hoped to get to Savannah about 10.30, this was not going to happen!

I was quite pleased the car was a Chevy and not a Hyuandai Accent and we were sadly excited about the fact it has a Mississippi plate. This is my first time driving in the USA and my first time driving anywhere on the wrong side of the road. When I first got into the car and slowly made my way out of the airport it felt very weird! I was gripping the steering wheel like a white knuckle ride as I made my way up one of the big wide and busy roads of Orlando. After many sets of lights, stopping and going, stopping and going we found the turn off to the I4.

The interstate AHHHHHH bliss! Granted at that time of night and being as tired as I was it was still a little scary but I found the I95 and the Travelodge, I didn't get stopped by the police and I didn't crash! We got to the Travelodge near Savannah about 10 past midnight and I was ready to drop, which once we got to our room I did!

Geek moment - another thing I worked out while driving up the interstate is that the exit numbers are determined by how many miles they are from the state line. Very handy when you can't really rely on your sat nav!
