As you might have guessed, today was pay day.  This week everyone has been taken to the bank on their day off to get their pay cheque cashed and converted to travellers cheques.  I'm really glad that they give us that option as I really didn't want to be dealing with nearly $2000 in cash!

Invevitably after we'd done that we had to go and do some shopping!  A lot of the clothes that I bought for camp are trashed now so I treated myself to a few new bits and peices to wear back in the 'real world'.  I've discovered two new favourite shops, Old Navy, which I think is owed by the same company that runs Gap and Charlotte Russe, which I can only describe as a cross between H&M and River Island.  Found a really nice dress in there for $20 which I'm planning on wearing to the staff party on Saturday, as well as out on any nights out I have while I'm travelling.

Another essential item I bought today was a large tub of ice cream.  Sally (another New Zealand counsellor) and I decided a week or two ago that we needed to challenge ourselves to eating a gallon of ice cream between us.  We wimped out on a full gallon, mainly because the only flavours that came in that size looked too cheap and nasty, but instead plumped for two 1.4 litre tubs of 'Eddy's', which seems to be a slightly cheaper version of Ben & Jerry's.  After getting it back to camp only patially melted we managed the best part of a litre each before we had to give up!  Still, a pretty impressive effort if I do say so myself.

On another cheerful note, I had my exit interview earlier in the week, which went really well.  The Camp Director Joe said that I'd done a really good job and that he was really pleased with the way I'd stepped up to the Unit Head role.  I've been told that I'm more than welcome back next year if I can make it!  Decisions decisions!

Started going through all my clothes the other day as a pre-cursor to packing, hopefully I'll get everything back in my bag.  As I said, I've bought a lot of new stuff but also got rid of a lot of the older stuff, as well as sending some stuff home (Mum & Dad, package winging it's way to South Wales, can just be stored until I get back) that I want to keep but don't need right now.  I was planning on packing today, as it's my day off, but we stayed in town later than I was originally planning so it's going to have to get done during my hour off tomorrow and on Saturday afternoon once all the kids are gone.  Wish me luck!
