We're in our second week of Speciality camp, with the first session of General Camp starting on Sunday. From 13 girls last week (for arts and crafts) we now have 22, although this is still only half the number we'll have in each session this time next week. I've moved cabins again, though just across the path, and I'm now sharing with 3 other counsellors and five 10 year olds. Luckily they're all very well behaved, go to sleep without much trouble and sleep (or at least don't wake us up) until a reasonable time.
We were asked the other day which units we would prefer to move to when General camp starts, and I've said Cherokee (age 10-11), Seneca (11-12) or Sioux (12-14), but we won't find out where we're going until Friday. Seneca and Sioux are right next to each other so wouldn't be a big move, but Cherokee is right at the top of the camp, up a really steep hill. Everyone jokes that you end up with 'buns of steel' if you live in Cherokee.
Word of warning to you all, stay away from Tetherball! It's basically Swingball but with a volleyball that you hit with your hand, not a tennis ball and bats. I was playing with two of the girls and managed to catch a rather hard wack with the side of my face! Thought I'd have a black eye but luckily it didn't come to anything. Won't be playing that again in a hurry.
Day off this week is Friday, have a feeling I'll be very ready for it when it comes! Going to treat myself to some Amerian 'Candy', I've already discovered Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars, 'which are amazing!
I have somemore photos to upload when I get chance to borrow a half decent laptop. They're all of staff events as we're not allowed to post pictures of the kids online, though I can take them for my own memories. If anyone hasn't noticed I've managed to add some photos to older entries so check thoses out if you haven't already.
