The alarm at 5 this morning was not so welcome, but after grudgingly forcing myself out of bed, I was able to wake up and put the final necessities in my suitcase (an extra jacket and two more pairs of shoes are necessities, right?)
We arrived in Salt Lake City around 10 a.m. (two hours behind Indiana) and got set up fairly quickly with our rental car. I feel like such a big girl, renting my first car (although I did have to pay extra for being a "young driver"). The website said that we should expect a "G6 or similar" and so naturally, my first thought was how we could blast "Like a G6" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snKHrGpuhBA) while driving through Mormon country. Imagine my disappointment, then, when we got there and they said they had an HHR reserved for us (www.chevrolet.com/hhr) - ew. Ok, that's me being spoiled - I get to go to Utah for free and then I complain about the rental car? We had a great drive and were in awe of the mountains, already covered with snow!
On the way, the boys had a magnificent idea to find an In N Out Burger and stop for lunch. They were able to find one, give me the directions, AND find the secret menu on the website so that we could make our burgers extra-delicious - try the animal style next time you're out west and go to In N Out. Well, this commentary is leading right up to our arrival in Provo, so I guess it's time to sit back and let a few more things happen before I update. Pictures to follow next week!
